C.D. Leganés and Diego García, together until 2027

The 23-year-old homegrown striker extends his contract with the club.

C.D. Leganés and Diego García have reached an agreement for the player's renewal until June 30, 2027. The 23-year-old youth player will thus continue to wear the Blue and Whites' shirt for this season and the following three.

Diego arrived at Leganés in 2020 from Rayo Vallecano's reserve team, and since then he has been taking steps season after season to settle in the first team. In his first season at Leganés 'B' he achieved promotion to the Second Federation being the top scorer of his group, and the following year he made his debut in that category after also playing his first minutes with the first team.

In 2022 he went on loan to C.F. Fuenlabrada, again excelling this time in First Federation with a total of fifteen goals during the course. A good performance that earned him to return last summer to Butarque, as a full member of the first team.

The Madrid-born player earned Borja Jiménez's trust from the very beginning, having played in all the league matches so far. Diego debuted as a goal scorer in an official match with the Leganés shirt against Albacete in the third matchday, and so far he has scored four goals after those achieved against Mirandés, Amorebieta and Racing de Ferrol.
