C.D. Leganés held the official presentation of its first men's and women's teams for the 2025/26 season this Wednesday, which will officially kick off this Sunday (7:30 PM) at El Alcoraz against S.D. Huesca.
In an event that took place at the Leganés Fairgrounds, as part of the 2025 Festivities of Nuestra Señora de Butarque, and attended by hundreds of pepinero fans, the blue-and-white players took the stage one by one to be applauded by the supporters.
After announcing the club's new record number of members and discussing the new kits for this season, the highlight of the night was the official announcement of Gonzalo Melero's signing by Leganés. The Madrid-born midfielder appeared emerging from an Ontime box, the club's main sponsor, to the surprise of the fans, who applauded the former Almería player, the latest addition to Paco López's squad.
The new pepinero coach, the men's team captain Jorge Sáenz, vice president Eduardo Cosín, women's football coordinator Cristina Pizarro, and women's team captain Eva Sánchez, along with the city's mayor, Miguel Ángel Recuenco, addressed the fans.
The event concluded with the traditional family photo featuring all the pepineros and the fans ahead of this Sunday's league debut.
