C.D. Leganés played their first friendly match in England against Burnley F.C. at their home ground. The pepineros drew 0-0 with a disallowed goal from Arambarri and a Dani Raba crossbar as the highlights of the game.

The game kicked off in Burnley with C.D. Leganés in possession but without creating too much danger, just like the home side who were unable to find the net thanks to the defensive actions of the Pepeños. The first dangerous chance came in the 29th minute when a good team move by Lega ended with Miguel on the right flank assisting Dani Raba but his shot crashed against the crossbar.

It was Borja Jiménez's side's best minutes as in the 38th minute, after another nice move between Cisse, Raba and Miguel, the ball ended up at the feet of Darko Brasanac who shot at goal but it went narrowly wide.

Goal disallowed to Arambarri in the second half that could have given Lega the victory.

In the second half Lega tried to take control of the ball but Burnley came out better and were dangerous in front of Juan Soriano's goal. Lega tried and it was in the 80th minute when they found the goal, which would later be disallowed for offside, after a free kick by Roberto Lopez to the far post where Arambarri arrived to score the first goal of the match. Thus, the match ended in a goalless draw in the first friendly match on English soil.

The next preparation match will be against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday 3 August at 14:00, and then they will play the Teresa Herrera Trophy with two matches on 9 August (against Real Oviedo) and 10 August (against Deportivo or Unionistas de Salamanca).
