The Benjamin 'A' of C.D. Leganés completed a great participation in the X edition of the Iscar Cup Tournament held at the soccer fields of the Recinto Ferial de Las Rozas. The 'pepineros' competed alongside the best national and international youth teams, reaching the quarterfinals and coming within one step of the semifinals.
The team coached by Alberto González arrived at this tournament after an excellent season, winning the league championship in Group 16 of Preferente and winning all ten games, scoring more than eight goals on average per game. The pepineros were placed in Group 4 along with Villarreal C.F., R.S.D. Alcalá and JP Select japonés.
Prestigious victory against F.C. Porto in the round of 16; only penalties prevented the pepineros from reaching the semifinals.
The Blue and Whites made their debut in the group stage with a 2-0 victory over JP Select Japan. Against Villarreal C.F., the Benjamín 'A' could not score, losing 0-2 in the second match of the day. The last match, against R.S.D. Alcalá, ended in a draw (2-2), with the team from Puebla qualifying for the round of 16 with four points out of a possible nine.
The Benjamín 'A' played a great match and eliminated F.C. Porto in the round of 16 by 1-2 after overcoming the initial goal of the Portuguese team. In the quarterfinals, the opponent was Getafe C.F.: after a match of maximum equality, the match was decided in a penalty shootout, with Getafe C.F. advancing to the semifinals.
