Leganés hosted the Spanish national soccer team for the first time

The Butarque Municipal Stadium and the city of Leganés hosted for the first time a match of the Spanish men's national soccer team. The national team clearly defeated Lithuania (4-0) in the last friendly match of preparation before the European Championship that starts this Friday.

The match was marked by the large number of young players who made their debut with the senior national team due to the appearance of two cases of Covid-19 in the concentration of Spain, which prevented the group of players selected for the tournament to play the Butarque match. Up to fifteen players played their first match with the senior team.

Butarque and Leganés, references after the dispute of this match and the 'Final Four' of the Copa de la Reina.

Spain dominated from start to finish and won comfortably 4-0, with goals from Guillamón, Brahim Díaz, Miranda and Puado. Former Puebla player Bryan Gil was a starter and played almost the entire match, leaving only in the last minutes with physical problems.

Butarque celebrated, in this way, its second event of relevance in recent weeks beyond the matches played by C.D. Leganés, after the dispute, at the end of last May, of the 'Final Four' of the Copa de la Reina, which ended up being won by F.C. Barcelona.
