C.D. Leganés will continue to have Igor Oca as coach of the first team. After taking charge of the team on December 5, the Basque coach will continue to lead the first team after the Christmas break and until the end of the season.
Oca, 44, joined the club last summer from Sestao River to manage the Pepinero reserve team, which he has kept in the promotion playoff spots since the start of the season. The Blue and White coach began his career in youth football in the youth academies of Villarreal, Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, and Levante. He also has extensive international experience, having held important positions at Atlético San Luis, Independiente del Valle, and Universidad Católica del Ecuador, among others, competing in competitions such as the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana.
Igor Oca's staff will consist of Iván Gómez, Alberto Bueno, and Nano Rivas. Iván Gómez has accompanied Igor as assistant coach at Alavés, Levante, and Leganés B, having also been assistant coach at Athletic Club de Bilbao and Almería, as well as coach at SD Formentera.
This is Alberto Bueno's first stint on the bench. The former player for Real Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Porto, Valladolid, and Leganés, among others, also accompanied Igor on the bench for the Pepinero reserve team.
Finally, Nano Rivas joins the Basque coach's staff. The former professional soccer player has been part of coaching staffs at Atlético de Madrid C, Nástic de Tarragona, San Fernando, and Getafe B.
Next Monday, December 29, the coach will hold a press conference alongside soccer director Andrés Pardo at the Butarque Sports Facility.
