C.D. Leganés and center back Gonzalo Aguilar López, “Lalo,” have reached an agreement to renew the player's contract until June 30, 2029. The youth academy player, whose contract was due to expire at the end of this season after being with the club since the youth ranks, has renewed for the next four seasons.
Lalo joined the club in 2013 from Atlético Madrid's youth academy and has played for all the youth teams from the under-12s to making his debut with the first team in the 2022/23 season. He made his debut in a Copa del Rey match in Gernika and later made his LALIGA HYPERMOTION debut, playing two more matches that season.
The following year, he played in five matches in the first half of the season, also making his debut as a goalscorer in the cup tournament against Llerenense. After being loaned out to Atlético de Madrid ‘B’ in the second half of the season, he went on another loan, this time last season, to Albacete Balompié, after which he returned last summer to the Pepinera discipline, becoming a regular at the start of this 2025/26 season.
After sealing his continuity at the club, Lalo will continue to defend the blue and white shirt for the next four seasons.
