On Wednesday, C.D. Leganés reached an agreement with midfielder Dani Rodríguez to join the Pepinero team until the end of the current season. The Galician, who has extensive experience in LALIGA, arrives after spending the last seven and a half seasons at R.C.D. Mallorca.
Born in Betanzos, Dani Rodríguez trained in Deportivo's youth academy, making his debut with the first team in a Copa del Rey match. After playing for Conquense, Racing de Ferrol, and Racing de Santander, he joined Albacete Balompié in 2015, achieving promotion to the Second Division and making his debut the following year in the silver category.
In 2017, he joined Mallorca, where he remained until recently. Highlights of his long career at the Balearic club include two promotions to the First Division in 2019 and 2021, a Copa del Rey final in 2024 in which he scored his team's goal, and the 2025 Spanish Super Cup. ‘El Tigre de Betanzos’ ended his time with the Bermellones with 282 official matches, in which he scored 32 goals and provided 39 assists.
A midfielder with a great ability to get into the opposition's box, Dani Rodríguez can play in all midfield positions or as an attacking midfielder. The Galician will immediately join Igor Oca's squad, will wear the number nine shirt and will be presented this Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the I.D. Butarque as a new Pepinero player.
