C.D. Leganés failed to pick up any points in their LALIGA HYPERMOTION matchday 29 fixture against S.D. Eibar (0-1). Nolaskoain scored the only goal of the game from a corner in the 28th minute, giving the visitors the win.
Igor Oca made three changes from the last game in Gijón, with Marvel coming into the starting lineup in place of Lalo, who was left out of the squad due to injury, Cisse replacing Óscar Plano in midfield, and Diego García replacing Asue up front. The match began with a first attempt by Marvel in the 4th minute and another by Cissé in the 6th minute, which drew the first gasps from the stands. Shortly after, in the 10th minute, Diego tried his luck with a good shot that went just wide, in what was a good start for the Blue and Whites.
Nolaskoain put Eibar ahead with a header from a corner kick
Lega had another chance in the 14th minute when Diawara finished off a good team move with a right-footed shot that went over the bar. The match was level after Leganés' good start, with Eibar slowing down the pace and looking to have more possession. In the 27th minute, Eibar had their first chance through Martón, which Juan Soriano deflected for a corner. From the corner, Nolaskoain headed home to make it 0-1.
Lega tried to react to the visitors' goal, with a good pass from Diawara behind the defense that Juan Cruz was close to converting. Soriano appeared again in the 38th minute to stop a header from Martón. The score remained 0-1 for the Armeros at halftime.
Leganés' persistence went unrewarded in the second half
With no changes after the restart, Lega dominated but couldn't find a way past Magunagoitia. Diego did so in the 55th minute after a good cross from Figueredo, but the visiting goalkeeper deflected his left-footed shot. Led by the omnipresent Dani Rodríguez, the Pepineros sought the equalizer against an Eibar side that had a chance to make it 0-2 on a counterattack that Martón failed to convert. In the 64th minute, Igor Oca made his first substitutions, bringing on Óscar Plano and Asue in place of Naim and Diego in an attempt to freshen up the attack.
Lega continued to press, with a shot from Dani Rodríguez from outside the area that grazed Magunazelaia's right post. In the 71st minute, Duk and Álex Millán replaced Cissé and Juan Cruz, and Melero did the same with Figueredo in the final stretch. Óscar Plano came close to scoring from a set piece that grazed the post again. Lega continued to press forward, crowding the area and laying siege to Eibar, with a shot from Franquesa hitting the crossbar. But their persistence was not rewarded, and the match ended with a victory for the visitors.
Leganés remain on 34 points in the standings, and their next match will be on Saturday (6:30 p.m.) against Real Valladolid.
