C.D. Leganés and Shanghai Shenhua reached an agreement on Wednesday for the loan until the end of the season of 24-year-old Equatorial Guinean international striker Luis Miguel Nlavo Asué. The agreement includes an option to buy at the end of the current season.
Trained in his native country, Asué signed for Portuguese club Sporting de Braga in 2019, playing for their youth and U-23 teams. In January 2024, he signed for Moreirense, making his debut in the top flight of Portuguese soccer and playing for a season and a half at that club, scoring six goals and providing three assists in his first full season in the elite.
Last summer, Asué signed for Shanghai Shenhua, playing the second half of the Chinese Super League and helping his team to finish runners-up with five goals, and another two in the group stage of the Asian Champions League.
Asué has made 30 appearances for Equatorial Guinea's senior national team and has played in three editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, the last of which was last December in Morocco. A powerful left-footed striker with great reach, he will wear the number 12 shirt and joined training on Wednesday. His official presentation will take place shortly.
