C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, held a press conference this Tuesday prior to Wednesday's match (19:00) against U.D. Almería at Butarque, corresponding to the twenty-first LaLiga SmartBank matchday postponed on January 10 due to the storm.
The coach acknowledged the importance of tomorrow's match, even though it is the next game: "Every game is key or important. Let's see if we are able to have a great day against a great rival. We have a clear line to follow and where we want to go. There are people who are training very well who haven't had a single minute yet, and they are fundamental for us. They have to be ready, they all are, and that is one of the objectives we had set ourselves", he assured.
Asier revealed that Rodri Tarín and Rubén Pérez will be out for the match, and had words of praise for tomorrow's opponent: "Almería is a sensational team, you only have to see their results and how they play to know that they are a very good team. They are well worked and knew how to get through their difficult moment. The mentality is to try to be convinced of what we are going to do, knowing the difficulty of the opponent we are going to have in front of us".
"We have to maintain the line on a day-to-day basis to see how far we are capable of going."
Questioned about the three consecutive victories, the Pepinero coach stressed that they had to "try to improve what this team was doing, the mentality of where we want to go is the most important thing. It has given us a little more tranquility and joy, we have to maintain the line on a daily basis to see how far we are able to go".
Finally, he spoke about some of his own names such as Miguel de la Fuente ("he played some very good minutes against Albacete, he has potential and will be a very important player for us"), Sabin Merino ("he has adapted to a striker position and has done well, in his beginnings he played on the left wing and that is where he gives us alternatives") or Luis Perea: "He is a different player in terms of the disputes and the talent of being able to play there. He will give us a good performance, he balances many aspects to control in today's soccer and in this category", he concluded.
