C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, held a press conference ahead of the match against Rayo Vallecano this Thursday (21:00), corresponding to the first leg of the semifinals of the play-off for promotion to LaLiga Santander.
The coach confirmed the absence of Lasure, Bustinza and José Arnaiz, due to injury, and could bring back Kenneth Omeruo, who has already returned to training with the group: "Tomorrow's match is the most important and it will determine whether we have options for the next one. We have to give our best".
"The difficulty is going to be great, but we have to try to do things right again and see if we can play a good game".
Asier believes that they face a powerful opponent: "Rayo has a clear game idea and is very strong, they have experience, speed, goal.... We have to try to balance all that. We know our strengths and what we are capable of doing, we are competitive and balanced and we have to prove it again. The difficulty is going to be great, but we have to try to do things right again and see if we can play a good game. The demand and the pressure is the same, being third gives you few advantages and you have to prove again that you can get through this tie.
The player from Bergara is satisfied with the level his players have been showing in recent weeks: "The level of the squad is very good, those who played in Zaragoza, those who played in the previous match.... Everyone is performing well, otherwise we wouldn't be in this situation. But we have to prove it again, and we are working on it. It is not easy to achieve promotion, but we have options. We have earned it and we will try to take advantage of it. The difficulty is great and so is the merit of being among these four teams".
