C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, appeared this Friday at the press conference prior to the match that the pepineros will play on Sunday (21:00) against Real Zaragoza, corresponding to the last day of the regular league.
The coach believes that the team must continue to compete to reach the play-offs: "The most important thing was to achieve the objective, and now we have to continue competing. I would have liked to have more days for the next game in view of the play-off or to know who we are going to face, but we have to focus on what we do".
"We will go with the tranquility of knowing that we will be in the play-off, but with the mentality to compete".
Asier confirmed the absences of Bustinza, Omeruo and Lasure, while he indicated that Ignasi Miquel, José Arnaiz and Borja Bastón started training with the group and could be available again: "We are taking one game at a time, we are focused on Zaragoza and competing well. The most important thing is that the team is ready to compete against a great rival. Then we'll see what opponents we have and what day we have to play. It is not easy to have the opportunity to be where we are, it is a work of eight or nine months and we will continue in the same line to see how far this will take us, but we are happy".
About this Sunday's opponent, he commented that "Zaragoza has had difficulties. Surely they expected to be with the best. We see historic clubs that do not have the possibility of playing for promotion and that gives more value to what we are doing. We will go with the tranquility of knowing that we will be in the play-offs, but with the mentality of competing and that will help us for the next game. We are very excited about what's to come from now on.
