C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, appeared at a telematic press conference after the goalless draw against Real Sporting at Butarque, corresponding to the thirty-seventh matchday of LaLiga SmartBank.
According to the coach, "we wanted to take the match forward knowing the possibility of being third, but the team has maintained a good balance, both defensively and offensively against a good rival. This is what we are going to find until the end of the season, but I think the team has been pretty good".
Regarding the match, Garitano acknowledged that "it was quite tight, with few chances and it was difficult for us. We also had the inconvenience of Borja's substitution due to injury, but in the second half we adjusted well, we were controlling the game and the match went in one direction only. It wasn't easy because Sporting is a well-organized team, but it looked closer to 1-0".
When asked about the standings, the coach stressed the importance of "maintaining that distance from Sporting, who are a very strong team and have been having a good season. That's how the remaining matches will be until the end of the season, and hopefully the following matches we play in the play-offs. We are not wasting energy on what could happen because all the teams are very powerful and nobody is going to give anything away, we have a tough month ahead and we are already focused on the next match".
