C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, appeared at a press conference this Wednesday before the match against R.C.D. Mallorca this Thursday (19:00), corresponding to the thirty-second round of LaLiga SmartBank.
The coach of the pepineros analyzed his opponent tomorrow: "They are coming from a defeat and we will see if we can make it difficult for them, but they are a great team, very solvent. They have a lot of balance, they have conceded very few goals and that's why they are where they are. They have experience, speed and are very hard-working".
Asier confirmed the absence of Lasure, Jonathan Silva, Tarín and Ignasi Miquel, due to injury, and Rubén Pérez, due to suspension, and praised R.C.D. Mallorca: "It's not easy to adapt after relegation, but they got to the top very quickly. They have been in the top two all year, their coach has experience in promotions and does things very well. Mallorca is maintaining a very regular line".
"The teams in front of us are proving that they are the strongest, and the physical and mental demand to cut back is great".
The player from Bergara affirmed that they are going to Mallorca "with the same intention of continuing to cut back and do things very well. We have a direct rival above us in the standings and we will try to play a good game". He also referred to his goalkeepers Asier Riesgo, who made his debut in LaLiga last Saturday with the Pepinera shirt, and Iván Cuéllar: "We have two goalkeepers with a lot of experience and many matches. Riesgo had a good day, from the first play he had a great intervention and was growing".
Regarding a possible change of formation or if he could repeat with three central defenders, Garitano believes that "the match against Almería has nothing to do with the one against Mallorca. The teams in front of us are proving that they are the strongest, they have a high score and the physical and mental demand to cut back is great. We are on this path and we will continue until the mathematics give us no option".
