C.D. Leganés coach Asier Garitano gave a press conference this Friday ahead of the 25th LaLiga SmartBank matchday 25 that the pepineros will play this Sunday (18:15) at Butarque against Albacete Balompié.
The coach confirmed the absence of Rodrigo Tarín and José Arnaiz due to injury, and foresees a tough match against an in-form opponent: "Albacete has shown in the last month to be the best team next to Mallorca. It's going to be very complicated, but let's see if we play a good game. I'm not thinking about the fact that we have three matches in a week, but about playing the first match with those who we think are better to pull it out, and then we'll start thinking about the next one, but we only have our mind set on this match," he assured.
"I hope to see a better and more solid Leganés every time".
Asier had words of praise for their opponent on Sunday: "We are only thinking about the Albacete match. They are a very strong opponent, they have taken ten points out of twelve in their last four outings, and they only lost against the leaders, with one less, missing a penalty.... We will have to do things very well and be patient. They are a very organized and hard-working team. We have to give continuity to the things we are doing and play a very complete game. They know what they play at, they don't break down, from the goalkeeper to the striker they have a lot of experience, they know the category and they are in a good moment".
The player from Bergara insisted that the team still has room for improvement: "When we win we are all happier, but with our feet on the ground knowing that we have to keep improving and growing. We have room for improvement to be able to get closer to the best, and we are in that process. I hope to see a better and more solid Leganés. Every week we will look to be better in some aspects or others."
"What I'm liking the most is the day-to-day work of the people who have played little or nothing, they have had a very good quality of training"
Finally, he spoke about the tactical scheme he has used in the two games played so far and what he has liked the most in these two weeks: "We have chosen in two games to play with a third midfielder, but every game is a different story and the squad offers us the possibility to play with different drawings. What I like the most is the day-to-day work of the people who have played little or nothing, they have had a very good quality of training and are prepared. That's what gives you the chance to grow," he concluded.
