C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, appeared at a press conference this Saturday ahead of the match that the pepineros will play this Sunday (2:00 p.m.) at Butarque against C.D. Tenerife, corresponding to the twenty-sixth matchday of LaLiga SmartBank.
The coach is clear that tomorrow they will again have a complicated match: "We are focused on tomorrow's match, we have prepared it as well as possible having only two or three days, but we are clear about where we want to go, and we will see if tomorrow we are able to have a good day against a great rival that is in a great dynamic like us".
"Tenerife is a very balanced team, we will have to give a great version to have our chances".
Asier believes that C.D. Tenerife will demand a lot from them in order to get the three points: "Tenerife is a very balanced team, which is doing things very well. They won in Vallecas and against Ponferradina, they have speed, depth, experience, centimeters... they are well worked and we will have to give a great version to have our options", he said.
The player from Bergara will only have the absence of Luis Perea, ("he had a problem in the last minutes against Almería and will not be in tomorrow"), while he will recover players like Arnaiz, who was in the call-up list against U.D. Almería, or Rubén Pérez, who rejoined the group this week and did not reveal if he will make many changes in the eleven: "Against Almería we came from Sunday to Wednesday and we have to see how people finish each match. Now we have one more day of recovery after Almería and tomorrow we'll see".
"The idea from the beginning is to get closer to the best, we are in it and we will continue with the same idea".
The Pepinero coach does not look beyond tomorrow's match: "The idea from the beginning is to get closer to the best, we are in it and we will continue with the same idea, and every match can give us that option. We put all the energy we have into every training session and into the next match, in this case against Tenerife. When you are in a good dynamic, the next match gives you the option to continue like that. We know where we have to improve to be better and better and that's where we are".
Finally, he had words of affection for Jon Ander Serantes, former goalkeeper of Pepinero who will return to Butarque tomorrow, but with the shirt of C.D. Tenerife: "I was lucky to train him here, a great goalkeeper and a great guy who gave us a lot, to Leganés and to me. It's a pity that there are no people to welcome him as he deserves in what will always be one of his homes", he concluded.
