Asier Garitano: "We lacked accuracy but we will continue to insist and work hard".

C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, appeared at a telematic press conference at the end of the match that the pepineros drew (1-1) against S.D. Ponferradina at Butarque, corresponding to the thirty-fifth matchday of LaLiga SmartBank.

"It's a shame because we played well and generated some very clear chances, but we lacked the most important thing in soccer, which is accuracy and the chance to distance ourselves much further. It is a missed opportunity that we had today because this match was fundamental for us; we are left with that bad taste in our mouth that we have lost two points."
About the match, the coach considers that "it was hard for us to get into the game but then we balanced ourselves and started to generate chances and that's how the goal came. In the second half we dominated the game and the match, we had chances to score the second, but when in soccer you forgive, what happened can happen to you. Without Ponferradina having generated anything for you, you get sent off, you're left with one less and in a foul you get 1-1 and even the possibility of losing the match".
For Garitano, "we played well against a good opponent. It wasn't possible, but the team's line in the last few matches has been closer to winning them, although we have lacked the right touch. We will continue insisting and working and I know that at the end of the season it will be complicated because we play against rivals who are playing against the same objectives and even relegation. I hope this can help us so that, in the case of playing in the playoffs, we will be a stronger and more solid team because the rivals will make us suffer a lot until the end of the season".
