C.D Leganés has officially presented the goalkeeper Asier Riesgo as its new player. The goalkeeper from País Vasco was excited about the new project and hopes to put his best in every training session and match.
C.D Leganés sports director Txema Indias valued his arrival: “We do not want to have problems in our goal like we did in other seasons. We are looking to have the position covered with Cuéllar, Riesgo and Conde. I thank Asier for deciding to come with us, he has a relevant career in our league, and we share values: humbleness, hard work and knowing where we come from. I wish him luck and we hope he help us to reach our objectives”.
“It is known that Leganés is a united family that works well”
Asier Riesgo was thankful for the opportunity C.D Leganés is offering: “I hope to fulfill all the expectations and help with my experience to achieve our common goals. We all must help and be a united group. I will try to give my best training and playing if I have the chance to do so. The mister is the one that decides and as a goalkeeper you normally need to wait while training and working hard”.
The goalkeeper talked about how Leganés is seen from the outside: “Leganés was playing in first division, they have a good reputation and are known to be a family that works wee. All the teams that are relegated have the immediate objective of getting promoted again but we all know the difficulty of the category and that any team can make things difficult for you. We will need to sweat a lot, this won’t be a bed of roses”.
“Cuéllar is a serious goalkeeper and Conde has great conditions”
When asked about his competitors for the spot: “I am here to compete knowing that both Cuéllar and Riesgo will be here but also thinking as a team. Martí knows me well we were teammates and he also coached me. He knows what I can do, and I will try to fulfill the expectations. Cuéllar is a serious and experienced goalkeeper, he clearly enjoys his job. Diego has great conditions and youth, we sure will be learning from each one of us”.
Finally, Riesgo valued the objective of the season: “We must focus in our day to day job and later the time will tell. We have a competitive squad and hope to be at the top by the end of the season, achieving our goals”.
