C.D. Leganés won (0-1) in their second pre-season match that took place at the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas against Raúl González Blanco's Real Madrid Castilla, thanks to a goal from homegrown player Cisse that was created off the back of a perfect last-minute counter.
C.D. Leganés had several opportunities to capitalise in the first half, including a header from Diego as well as efforts from Javier Hernández and Eraso, but failed initially to put them ahead despite their control of the ball and creativity in midfield.
In the second half, neither team was able to make a clear threat on goal, but Leganés continued to dominate the game with eight fresh players from the bench, followed by another 3, Cisse included, as the final fifteen approached. The homegrown player looked sharp and sealed the win when he finished off a magnificent counter-attack just before the final whistle.
The Pepineros continue to make progress in this pre-season stage in order to arrive in the best form for the start of the league. The next match will be on Wednesday 4 August at 19:00h at the Butarque Sports Facility against C.F. Fuenlabrada.
