C.D. Leganés signed 31 year old Bruno González Cabrera this Tuesday to add the defender to their ranks for the new season. The Canary Islands centre back has much LaLiga experience and arrives from Real Valladolid.
Brought up within C.D. Tenerife's academy, González won his first senior team appearance in 2011 in the derby against U.D. Las Palmas. After a year out on loan at C.D. Teruel, he returned under the wing of Heliodoro Rodríguez López to establish himself as a key member of the squad in their promotion to the Segunda División that season. He was transferred to Real Betis in 2014, managing to secure promotion to the Primera División in his first season, where he competed for the next two years.
More than 200 games worth of experience in the first division, second division and European football
His time at Betis came to a close in 2017 as he moved to Getafe C.F. for the next two and a half seasons, which brought him his first contact with European football, before he left for Levante U.D. in January 2020. His last season was spent at Real Valladolid however, where he played in 28 Primera División games with a total of more than 2,300 minutes on the pitch. González also played in this season's opener against U.D. Las Palmas.
A centre back with physical strength and a strong aerial game, his positioning and defensive resolve make him a player to admire. He will join the squad training sessions immediately and his official presentation date is still to be confirmed.
