Butarque has had more than 80% of occupation on its stands during the current season

Estadio Municipal Butarque has registered once again an occupation of more than 80% on its stands during the 2019/20 season matches until the competition suspension was declared. The pepineros’ home has averaged an attendance of more than 10.000 people per game.

141.068 spectators went to Butarque in fourteen matches that Leganés played as local according to official data provided by LaLiga. An average of 10.076 fans per game, the club’s highest in its four seasons on LaLiga Santanter.

The biggest attendance was on the second matchday of the tournament against Atlético de Madrid in the last days of august with a total of 11.742 spectators. This is the highest home attendance registered in the club’s official data: even though the stadium has had full attendance in last seasons, before summer, 2018 its capacity was lower than the one it has today.

Leganés had never registered an average of 10.000 fans per game before since it is being part of LaLiga Santander. The club’s debut season in 2016/17 had an average of 9.289 fans, the 2017/18 season the average was 9.116 and last season it was of about 9.824 spectators per match. This season has set a record of 10.076.

Occupation was around 80,9% of its total which is the club’s second-best attendance percentage in first division only beaten by the attendance of the club in its debut season (84,7%) even though the stadium’s capacity was lower (1.500 seats less). In 2017/18 season the average occupation was 79,6% and during 2018/18 season it was 78,8%.

When comparing with other teams of the league, Leganés is ranked eight taking account the average occupation percentage. The club with the highest percentage of occupation is Granada, just 3,5 points above the pepineros (84,4%).
