C.D. Leganés, aiming for a third victory out of their Almería trips

C.D. Leganés travel to play U.D. Almería in their seventh official encounter ever this Friday at 21:00 (CEST). A fixture only ever played in the second division, the record is evenly split between the two sides, two wins; two draws and two defeats.

The clubs first met in the 1995/6 season, which finished in a (1-1) draw with Javi López scoring for the Pepineros. The following season, Leganés were overcome and were defeated 3-2 despite Miguel Ángel and Moisés netting.

Juan Muñoz scored to draw last season after playing 80 minutes with ten men

The 21st century brought more fortune to the Blanquiazules in Almería as they won on their consecutive visits in 2002/03 and 2003/04, first in their penultimate game of the season where Calandria produced a brace (2-0) and then only a few months later to win (3-1) after goals from Borja, Pablo Rodríguez and Calandria again.

A narrow (3-2) defeat came in the 2015/6 season after Candela and Guillermo's goals could not tip the result, and most recently, the sides clashed last season, with Juan Muñoz's goal levelling the game (1-1) in added time after they defended for 80 minutes a man down.
