C.D. Leganés head to play Girona F.C. on Monday, an opponent who, only last season, did Leganés defeat for the first time in previous ten encounters between the teams. After nine games without a victory, Kevin Bua's brace contributed towards the Pepineros' first win over the Gironistes last February.
On their journeys to Girona, C.D. Leganés had only managed two draws out of four matches in the Montilivi. The first of their clashses came in 2015, with a final score of 2-1 in the favour of the Catalans, despite Chuli's goal initially edging the Blanquiazules in front. The following season saw Asier Garitano's promotion squad maintain a tight 1-1 tie to donate a point towards the Primera División dream; Timor was the lone Pepinero goalscorer.
Girona's performance was more emphatic when the clubs next crossed paths in the 2017/18 LaLiga Santander season; a match that ended 3-0. Finally, in the 2018/9 season Mauricio Pellegrino's side fought the clock down towards a goalless draw (0-0).
