C.D Leganés could not get any points on their return to competition against Real Valladolid (1-2). Oscar’s penalty kick goal on the last quarter of the match was not enough for the pepineros. Enes Ünal and Alcaraz scored the goals for the visit team.
The match started in a hard way for C.D Leganés. Enes Ünal scored for Valladolid on the second minute of the match after a communication mistake from Cuéllar and Awaziem.
The score was 0-1 when half time was reached
Lega was committed to recover after the first goal and got to control the match, but Valladolid was organized on the back and managed to not allow the pepineros to create much options.
Both Kevin Rodrigues and Óscar tried with long distance shoots with no luck. Carrillo had the best chance to score on 43’ but unfortunately the forward could not kick it in the best way and the ball went wide.
Alcaraz increased the lead on the second half
After half time, Javier Aguirre tried to make some changes in the team structure to make it more offensive. Assalé got into the match replacing Bustinza. However, the visitors increased their lead on 53’ when Alcaraz used a divided ball and beat Cuéllar with a strong left shoot.
Carrillo and Óscar tried but unfortunately did not have any luck. Aitor Ruibal, Bryan Gil and Guerrero got into the match with the purpose of getting back to the game. On 82’ Salisu committed a foul against Assalé in the area and Melero López called a penalty kick that was kicked by Óscar who scored the 1-2.
Óscar shortened the distances
Leganés increased the intensity on the last part of the match, the pepineros tried to look for the tie. The youth player Javier Avilés also got to play during the match on the right side of the pitch. The white and blues tried from both sides of the pitch but unfortunately the team could not tie the match.
Leganés remains with 23 points in the league table and is three points away from the survival zone. The team’s next match will be on Tuesday (22:00h) against F.C Barcelona at Camp Nou.
