C.D. Leganés recognize the firsts female players on the International women day

For the International women day, that is celebrated next 8 of march, C.D. Leganés honor three footballers sisters from the city that opened the path in the football world to Leganés at the end of the 60´’s. Remedios, Dolores and Carmen Tirada López will make the kick off in the previous match against C.D. Mirandés next sunday 6 of march (18:15 hours) in the Stadium of Butarque.

The three of them were summoned for the club after looking at a photo that was kept on the archives of the club, in which it appears a football team of women with the uniform of that period, tha the masculin team also wore.

The protagonist had a fun and nostalgic morning in the grass of Butarque, remembering those amazing years in which they wore three different uniforms, they trained at Los Pinos and played at Estadio Municipal, where nowadays Plaza Mayor is ubicated. Besides playing in their locality they could play at Bilbao or Valladolid. A needed testimony of an era where the first steps of female football started.

Next Sunday, the supporters at Buarque will give them the respective tribute of a generation of women of Leganés that until today their story was unknown.
