C.D Leganés won in its only visit to Castalia

C.D Leganés will play this Sunday (18:15h) against C.D Castellón at Castalia, a stadium that has only visited once for an official match. It was on the 1993/94 season. The match ended with a 0-2 win for the pepineros against C.D Castellón.

It was C.D Leganés’ first season in second division and both teams were playing the thirtieth matchday of the season. Both teams were on relegation spots but the white and blues were about to reach a crucial points for their survival in the category.

Goals by Luis Ricardo and Antonio

Luis Angel Duque lined up the following players: Aguilera, Juanma, Mesas, David, Barba, Chuso, May, Alfredo, Barcia, Vivar Dorado and Luis Ricardo. Antonio and Javi got into the pitch in the second half. Luis Ricardo scored first before half-time and Antonio did the same in second half. 0-2 was the result.

The pepineros are back at Castalia twenty six years later with the purpose of repeating their win there.
