C.D. Leganés honors its oldest members in the first edition of the “Club de los 50”

The event took place this Wednesday at the Butarque Stadium, with the presence of president Jeff Luhnow.

C.D. Leganés honored this Wednesday its oldest members in the first edition of the “Club de los 50”. In this way, the club wants to thank annually the loyalty of its oldest season ticket holders with a gold, silver or bronze badge depending on their number of card.

In this first edition, the club organized the ceremony for the presentation of badges on the lawn of the Butarque Stadium, in an afternoon that was attended by the club's president, Jeff Luhnow, as well as historical former presidents such as Mr. Jesús Polo and Mr. Rubén Fernández, and the mayor of Leganés, Mr. Miguel Ángel Recuenco.

Luhnow wanted to open the event with a few words of thanks to these members: "It is a real honor to welcome you to this house that is yours, Butarque Stadium. Today we gather to celebrate an event that, for the first time in the history of our club, publicly recognizes those of you who have been here practically from day one. To those of you who not only saw the birth of C.D. Leganés, but who have accompanied it with passion, loyalty and pride for decades, to you, our first 50 members. May this insignia that we present to you today serve as a symbol of eternal gratitude".

An event to honor those who have supported the club for decades

Afterwards, the first fifty members of the club were presented with their insignias, who were named one by one to go on stage and receive their insignia from Jeff Luhnow. Afterwards, and following the family photo, all attendees enjoyed a cocktail dinner with their companions on the stadium lawn.

In addition to the tribute, these members will enjoy exclusive benefits, such as the chance to take a free tour of the stadium, attend a game next season from the box of honor and many more, as a token of the club's gratitude and respect for those who have built their history from the ground up. Likewise, in the event of the death of any of these members, the club will pay tribute to their memory with a minute's silence at the next match at Butarque, as a gesture of respect and eternal gratitude. On the other hand, the tribute to all members who have passed away during the season, regardless of their membership number, will be maintained at the first match of the year.

Undoubtedly, a day of pride, gratitude and recognition to those who have supported the club for decades.
