C.D. Leganés, invited to commemorate the centenary of Hapoel Tel Aviv

C.D. Leganés will be the guest team at the centenary of Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C. The local club will play next July 15 the match commemorating the hundred years since its foundation, and C.D. Leganés will have the honor of being its opponent on such an important date.

Hapoel Tel Aviv, founded in 1923, has won 13 leagues, 16 Cups and 3 Super Cups, as well as an Asian Champions League in 1967. It is one of the three regional clubs that have participated in the group stage of the Champions League, along with Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The match will be played at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, a venue with a capacity of around 30,000 spectators. The president of C.D. Leganes, Jeff Luhnow, was grateful to be part of this event: "It is a great honor to be part of such an important event in the history of a club like Hapoel Tel Aviv. We are very happy and hope that all the fans can enjoy this exhibition match," he said.

For his part, Hapoel Tel Aviv's head of soccer operations, Hen Sol, said, "C.D. Leganes is a tough opponent, and it will be a great test for our team as we prepare for the upcoming season. For our fans, this is an opportunity to celebrate Hapoel Tel Aviv's incredible history, while looking forward to a bright future."

A special celebration will take place at halftime of the match, honoring some of the most iconic and celebrated players from the Israeli club's first 100 years of history. The match will be one of C.D. Leganes' first pre-season friendlies in preparation for the upcoming 2023/24 season.
