For the second victory against Real Sporting at Butarque

C.D. Leganés will host this Sunday (18:15) at Municipal Stadium of Butarque against Real Sporting de Gijón, a rival that the team have only won on one occasion in their nine clashes in official matches. The pepineros have, in history, a good scenario for the asturians that have taken points on the last 8 of their nine visits. 

Leganés and Sporting played the first time on may of 1999, in a match that ended with a visitor triumph for a result of 0-1. On the next campaign the pepineros could achieve their unic victory  for a result of 2-1 on the antepenultimate gameweek, thanks to a double score from Barbarín. In the following seasons , the clases at Butarque finished with a sporting triumph. 

Both teams did not play together again at Butarque up to the 2014/15 with a new victory for the visitors. The only registered compromise on first division was in 2017, where the white and blue team fell for a result of 0-2. On the last duel of last season it was a draw match with no goals last 2 of may of 2021.
