C.D. Leganés beat A.D. Alcorcón in their fourth match of the preseason thanks to goals from Recio and Manu Garrido in a game that saw the pepineros go from strength to strength.
Asier Garitano's team just keep getting better and better ahead of their league start and no more clearly was this shown in their performance against the Alfarero side. The starting eleven had Garrido in goal, Alda, Bustinza, Sergio G., J. Silva and Quintillá in defence, Luis Perea, Recio, Arnaiz and Eraso in midfield and Manu Garrido up front.
The Blanquiazules, today in Pepinero green, were inches from clinching an early lead after a narrow miss by Manu Garrido, but they continued to dominate the game until half time though the score stayed level.
The second half welcomed all the action. First, after a great passage of passing in the midfield, Recio found himself in a great position to slot the ball inside the left-hand post with a subtle shot across goal. Only a few minutes after, the substitute Álex floated the ball across to Manu Garrido who didn't hesitate to tuck it away in front of goal.
The Alfarero team looked to close the gap on the scoreboard, but their clearest chance was denied by Victores with a confident save. The home defence marshalled the opposition's attack expertly, stifling any danger to their two goal lead. At the other end of the pitch the chances kept coming for Leganés, with attempts from Eraso and Arnaiz disappointed by the woodwork, and the score remaining unchanged when the final whistle blew.
