C.D. Leganés taken on U.D. Ibiza this Saturday at 19:30 CEST, in the first clash between the two sides in an official tournament. Since U.D. Ibiza's founding in 2014, the sides have never met but they will have the opportunity to battle this weekend.
The Ibizan club secured its promotion into Segunda División 'B' in 2018, enduring 3 seasons in the third tier until they managed promotion to LaLiga SmartBank last summer. Two of U.D. Ibiza's squad members have pepinero history: the forward Miguel Ángel Guerrero, who played 68 partidos and scored 10 goals in the first division, and their coach, Juan Carlos Carcedo. Before his managerial career began, Carcedo played in blue and white between 2002 and 2004, totalling 46 games in the second division. He returns to the Butarque this Saturday to participate in the league, but this time leading from the sidelines.
