Ignasi Miquel: "I will try to give my best level and help out with whatever is needed"

The Catalan center-back was presented this Monday as a new Leganés player.

C.D. Leganés presented Ignasi Miquel as a new player for the team this Monday. The Catalan center-back, who returns to the club for a second stint after defending our colors in the 2020/21 season, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to return to Leganés.

The club's director of football, Andrés Pardo, welcomed the player, stating that "it is a privilege to have him, he is a player of the highest level who will help the group both on the field and in the locker room. He is a reference for us, and we hope he feels comfortable here."

For his part, Ignasi Miquel began by thanking the club "for the opportunity to wear this jersey again. I hope I can bring joy to everyone and that we can enjoy this year. I already knew the club, as well as the coach. Since I left, they have grown a lot and done things very well, and that gives you the desire to keep competing at the highest possible level. That ambition makes you take a step here."

For the center-back, "the demand is maximum. Paco wants the group to be happy, but he demands in every training session that you help your teammate, and he gives it the utmost importance. I've been in this for quite a few years, and what you want is for the group to function well because in this long league, we are all necessary. We have to instill in the young players what work and coexistence mean, and what I see now is heading in that direction. I will try to give my best level and help wherever needed."

"Everyone knows our goal, which will be very difficult, but if the group is united, it will be easier"

Regarding Paco López's approach, whom he already knows from previous stages, he analyzed that "in the Second Division, you have to be prepared for mini-games within the games. Paco likes to attack and have possession, but keeping a clean sheet and staying united and strong is important. I can contribute to that, both in footballing terms and in communication and keeping everyone united. Paco is a great person, and the coaching staff is very open to everything. He gave me confidence and tries to ensure that everyone is focused on helping their teammates. He can help the group a lot to reach their best level."

The Catalan defender believes that "experience gives you a lot. You know what young players need because it is a very long league. Everyone knows our goal, which will be very difficult, but if the group is united, it will be easier. The demand for each individual has to be to be as professional as possible."

Finally, Ignasi commented that "the feeling is of being a more complete club, always attentive to the player. The club's ambition is to invest in the present and the future, which is important at all levels."
