José Luis Martí: “The one that adapts faster to the changes will have better chances of winning”

C.D Leganés’ manager attended the media before the match that his team will play against Girona F.C (Sunday, 16:00h) at Estadio Municipal Butarque for the fifth matchday of LaLiga SmartBank. The manager is happy with the squad after the transfer market closing and hopes it performs well.

“It is almost certain that Bua, Róber Ibáñez and Jonathan Silva won’t be part of the team. The internationals will not be with us either. We must adapt to the changes, the one that does it faster will have more winning chances. I prefer to sabe my comments about it because I rather be on the bench. Losing three important players such as the ones that have left for their National Teams will put some difficulties for us since they were adapting to the rhythm on the last matches, however we have a large squad and don’t have any excuse. I have no doubts that the ones that replace them will perform well”.

“I am thrilled with the squad I got”

Martí was asked about some names of the squad and their form after not being able to play last games because of injuries: “Bustinza is totally recovered from his injuries, he is lacking of rhythm but is now training with the team without problems. Silva still has some trouble in his knee, and we won’t be able to count with him. Regarding Cuéllar, we will have the last training session tomorrow and will decide then”.

The manager was happy and excited about his squad after the closing of the transfer market: “I am thrilled with the squad I got. It is a large squad which we have to manage so all the players have their importance. I count with every one of them and will try to put the best eleven for each game. There will be opportunities for everyone since this is a long competition. We have so many forwards because we look to use them by playing with two of three of them per match and thus being an offensive team. The most important is the system to evolve, we have many good players and know that the ones that get to play will perform well. We will always look to improve and get more”.

At the end, the manager referred to his previous stage at Girona: “I know many people at Girona. It was a sad goodbye, but I have great memories and have learned a lot there. I am currently focused on preparing my players in the best way to get the three points".
