C.D Leganés’ manager attended the media before the match that his team will play against C.D Castellón (Sunday, 18:15h) at Castalia for the fourth matchday of LaLiga SmartBank.
The pepineros’ manager confirmed the possible downs of the squad at Castellón: “Avilés has not been able to train during the week and is a doubt. Cuéllar, Silva and Kevin Bua may not be ready. The rest of the squad is available”.
“We have a large squad with several players per position and this increases the competition in the squad”
When asked about the squad arrivals Martí said he was satisfied: “We are happy with the squad. We have several players per position and that is what we need: to have competition in the squad. We will need to adapt to work with more players than usual, but the idea was to have a squad like this in case there are situations related to the pandemic that take some players away”.
About the last arrival, the forward Miguel de la Fuente he said he comes to increase the internal competition in the front: “It is key to have players that increase competition and thus the performance of all the team. We can have 23 players in the squad and five substitutions and that allows all to have opportunities”.
“Winning is what we need”
Martí declared that his team will go after the three points from the beginning: “Winning is what we need, and it does not matter that we have lost on our previous away match. We are preparing to perform in the best possible way to be competitive and consistent with our winning mentality. We must learn to make the correct pauses during the match and not rush ourselves”.
At the end, the manager asked the fans to get excited about their team: “We have our feet on the ground and understand the difficulties that are about to come. We want the fans to get excited as we are to get three more points, understanding the difficult level of the competition but also knowing that we have what is required to be an important team in the category”.
