C.D Leganés’ manager attended the media before the match that his team will play against F.C Cartagena (Sunday, 20:30h) at Butarque for the third matchday of LaLiga SmartBank.
The manager thinks his team has the intention of winning again: “We arrive to the match with the will of winning again. There is not other objective than getting the three points. We are 100% motivated to compete again. Cartagena is a recently promoted team that has to get used to the category, a very intense team with great ball possession. It will be hard for us to take the ball away from them, it is one of their strengths”.
Martí referred about the last signings of his team: the winger Kevin Bua and defender Daniel Lasure: “They are players that we needed. Lasure can provide us with experience and knowledge about the category and Kevin is an explosive player that can use the wings for us. Kevin is not ready yet to be con the squad, he is currently working to get ready”.
“We must continue to make steps forward every game”
The manager also confirmed that Cuéllar, Jonathan Silva and Bustinza may not be part of the squad: “Bustinza is not at his 100%, he still has some pain and we do not want to force him into the pitch. He made a big effort to be ready for the first match and we must be careful”.
The white and blues coach talked about his team’s first two matches and the things to improve: “We must understand the competition. Each match will have opportunities and moments for both teams. We had occasions to score the 0-2 at Lugo and take the three points. I am happy about the number of chances we created. We can create even more and continue improving. Once the players get that sparkle, we will be able to create more occasions and take bigger steps on the following matches”.
