Leganés managed to comeback at La Cerámica after a goal scored by Gerard Moreno at 4’. On second half, two goals scored by Óscar (47’ and 69’ – penalty kick) allowed the team to get their fifth win of the season.
First half started with a Villarreal goal scored by Gerard Moreno after a cross by Cazorla on the fourth minute of the match. It certainly wasn’t the start the pepineros were looking for but soon they started lo look after the draw. Playing with some changes - a 4-defense line structure and Amadou in the mid-field, Leganés almost got to score on 19’ with a shoot by Carrillo.
Óscar and Rosales had their chances to score as well with long-distance shoots stopped by Asenjo. Villarreal was also close to the second goal after a couple shoots stopped by Pichu Cuéllar. The best chance was a rebound shoot by Moi Gómez after an Alcácer shoot that was stopped by Pichu.
On Second half, Leganés managed to score on the first minutes. On 47’, Carrillo assisted Óscar who kicked a strong shoot that stroke the crossbar and got in the goal.
Aguirre was forced to call Omeruo and Bustinza into the game after Siovas and Rosales retired injured. Assalé also got in the game replacing Ruibal with the purpose of adding freshness in attack.
It was Assalé the one that got a penalty kick after a foul committed to him – called by VAR after the referee didn’t sanctioned the foul. Óscar kicked the penalty and scored the second for the pepineros on 69’.
The remaining twenty minutes weren’t easy for Leganés since their rivals started to attack in order to get the equalizer. A couple of chances from the sides were rejected by both pepineros’ defenders and goalkeeper - who had a great performance on the match.
After 6 minutes of added time, Leganés got to win three points at La Cerámica that allows the team to continue its fight for staying at Primera División.
