This Saturday (19:30h), C.D Leganés will look forward to continue with their good streak in official matches against Real Valladolid on the last years. Pepineros and pucelanos have faced each other on nine occasions for official matches since 2014. The white and blues have won six times, tied twice, and lost only one match.
Leganés and Valladolid have faced each other on the last seasons in first and second division, and in Copa del Rey matches. The first season both teams played against was on 2014/15 in Segunda División, the pepineros won on that occasion at Butarque (1-0) with a goal scored by Borja Lázaro. On the same season the white and blues lost on their away match (2-0) at Zorrilla. This is the only time that the pepineros did not manage to get points when playing against the pucelanos.
During 2015/16 season (the one in which Leganés gor promoted to first division) the first match of the season was a tie at Valladolid (1-1) with a goal scored by Szymanowski while on their home match, the pepineros won (4-0) with goals scored by Guillermo, Gabriel, Sastre and Szymanowski.
The next time both teams encountered each other was during 2017/18 season for Copa del Rey round of 32. The pepineros won their away match (1-2) with goals by Rico and Beavue, they also managed to win on the home match at Butarque (1-0) with a goal scored by Tito and thus qualifying for the round of 16 phase.
Last season, playing in first division, Leganés managed to win on both occasions against the white and purples. Pellegrino’s team won 2-4 at Valladolid on a game in which Siovas, Óscar and Carrillo (twice) scored. The white and blues also won at Butarque with a goal by Carrillo on extra time.
This season both teams have already played at José Zorrilla Stadium with a result of 2-2. Braithwaite and Roque Mesa scored that day for the pepineros. This match was played on January 3rd, 2020.
