C.D Leganés was defeated against Celta de Vigo (1-0) on Saturday. Javier Aguirre´s squad couldn’t take advantage of Bradaric’s red card on first half. Iago Aspas managed to score on second half after a free kick throw.
Good start for pepineros that played with a one-man advantage after Bradaric’s red card.
Pepineros started the match playing solidly with good pressing on their rivals. At 4th minute Kevin Rodrigues shot to goal after an interior pass but Celta´s keeper managed to reject it with his fists.
The game was played mostly in the mid field when Bradaric kicked Bustinza on his ankle and the referee showed him a direct red card. From that moment and till the end of the first 45 minutes the pepineros managed to control the ball.
Leganés had the chance to take a lead on the score.
Jonathan Silva and Kevin Rodrigues were playing well together on the left side of the pitch. Javier Aguirre’s team was close to take the lead with Awaziem and Carrillo after free kick pass from the left side of the pitch.
Recio was also close after a shoot that was rejected by the local defense. The match ended 0-0 after the first half of it was played.
Iago Aspas’ goal sentenced the match.
Óscar Rodríguez replaced Javi Eraso on the pitch after Javier Aguirre decided to put some changes for the second half of the game. Roger Assalé also got his chance playing for Silva. Both substitutions looking up to win the game.
The worst play of the match for the pepineros arrived when Óscar committed a foul and received a red card that would be changed for a yellow after Munuera Montero checked on the VAR. After the same foul Celta managed to put a crossed pass on Iago Aspas’ feet deviating the ball and scoring the first and only goal of the match.
C.D Leganés couldn´t manage to score back and tie the game after Aspas’ goal meant an important setback for the team.
