Sergio González scores his first of the season

C.D. Leganés centre back, Sergio González, notched his first goal of the season this Saturday as the Pepineros played C.D. Tenerife. The Madrid-born defender's effort was a crucial equaliser in the second and his first attempt of the season.

The number '6' took advantage of a wide free kick, whipped in by Rubén Pardo, to send the ball into the back of Juan Soriano's net to make it 1-1 on the scoreboard midway through the second half. It was his first goal of the season and his third since he has been in the Pepinera shirt, having scored last season against C.D. Ourense in the Copa del Rey; and S.D. Ponferradina in La Liga.

After the game, Sergio was disappointed by the defeat despite the goal: "We feel comfortable playing at home, but we've had a bad start and we have to evaluate what's going wrong. I have no doubt that we're going to pull this off. Things aren't great, but we have a very clear objective to win every game".
