C.D. Leganés will dispute the XLVI Edition of the Villa de Leganés Trophy on Saturday, August 8 against C.D. Tenerife. The traditional blue-and-white tournament returns to be disputed before the league kickoff after two consecutive years being played in October on the occasion of the Fiestas de San Nicasio.
On this occasion, the rival of the pepineros for the Pepino d'Or will be C.D. Tenerife, a team that returns this season to LALIGA HYPERMOTION and that will dispute for the first time the Villa de Leganés Trophy, which has been celebrated uninterruptedly since 1980, with the sole exception of the 2020 edition, suspended due to COVID.
It will be the last touchstone for the pepinero team before the league commencement, foreseen for the weekend of August 15-16. The information about the definitive schedule of the match and the tickets to witness it will be made known shortly.
Leganés leads the winners' list of its trophy with twenty-five titles, the last three consecutively, followed by Rayo Vallecano and Getafe, with three, and Atlético de Madrid and Real Valladolid, with two.
