As if it was today… nine years ago Leganés won against Pontevedra (3-1), with this the team was one win away from reaching playoffs. Two goals by Ferrán Tacón and one by Arruabarrena left the pepineros close to reach the promotion stage.
This would be the last match of the regular season to be played at Butarque because of Cerro de Reyes’ walkover on the last matchday.
José María Rico’s initial squad was: Rubén Falcón, Pedro Hernández, Mario, Bayón, Jonay, Zazo, Chupe, Jonatan Valle, Nakor, Ferrán Tacón and Arruabarrena. Martín ortega, Tetteh and Tonino played on the second half. Leganés scored early on the match through Ferrán Tacón´s goal after a Chupe´s cross. Even though Pontevedra tied with a great goal by Santi Amaro, the first half ended in favor of the locals after another goal scored by Ferrán.
The white and blues increased their lead with an Arruabarrena’s goal on the second half. On the rest of the match Jonatan Valle would be sent off by the referee and the visistor´s goalkeeper Orlando Quintana stopped a Martin Ortega´s penalty kick.
Leganés depended on itself to qualify for the promotion stage and would reach it on the next matchday against Deportivo 'B' at A Coruña.
