C.D Leganés’ manager Javier Aguirre attended the media this monday in the pre-match press conference held at I.D Butarque before the 33rd matchday of LaLiga that will be played this Tuesday (21:00h) against Sevilla at Butarque.
The pepineros’ head coach referred about the team’s current situation after the five games played: “It is hard, we have not had a quiet day since the competition restarted. Things have happened, we have lost points and that affects you. We have ran more than our rival son the five games we played, we only have had two injuries… Tomorrow we have another match that will be played on an intense rhythm, we will try to have the ball, get to the area and hopefully improve our definition on the areas”.
Aguirre talked about Sevilla which he thinks is a team that “have performed well after the stop. They are still in champions zone, have a great manager and a team designed to play champions league”. He also confirmed that Óscar Rodríguez will not get to play the match: “If this was the last LaLiga match, he would be able to play but right now we prefer to allow him the get to the next match with better conditions”.
The Mexican manager thinks that “we are playing well, we are performing in a good way but there is no direct relationship between the team performance and the points reached. We are alive, we must win and wait. We are Lega and must not quit”.
Finally, he thinks that the youth players are ready to help the first team: “Avilés and Bryan Gil are ready to assume more responsibilities, also Manu, Amores and Iván. Lombo and Adrián have helped us since the beginning on the training sessions. They are the club’s future, the started from the bottom and provide freshness to the team”.
