Asier Garitano: "We know what our idea is there and what we have to do to have options".

The coach of C.D. Leganés, Asier Garitano, held a press conference this Friday prior to the match that the pepineros will play this Sunday (21:00) against R.C.D. Espanyol, corresponding to the thirty-fourth round of LaLiga SmartBank.

The Blue and Whites' coach confirmed the absence of the injured Palencia, Bustinza, Ignasi Miquel and Lasure, as well as that of the suspended Borja Bastón, and confirmed that the rest of the squad is available: "When you win you are happier and recoveries are usually quicker. This week we are better than last week when it comes to preparing for the match. The week's work has been good and we'll see on Sunday if we can transfer it to the match, which is the most difficult thing," he said.

"We have had good and not so good moments, but the idea and mentality is the same and that's where we are."

Asier assures that the team has prepared well for the match during the week: "We know what our idea is there and what we have to do to have options. The most important thing is to be prepared and mentalized and to know where we want to take the game. After the game we will analyze again how we finished, our idea is to play a good game to be able to score. We are focused on trying to prepare for the match so that we can play a good game, which we will need".

The player from Bergara had words of praise for his opponent this Sunday: "Espanyol has a great squad and a great coaching staff. They started very strong and that gave them peace of mind. In moments of difficulty they had an advantage and they have solved it with relative tranquility. They haven't gone two or three weeks without a win, they have a very high score and the objective is to try to get closer to them. We focus on the team and its virtues. De Tomás has the talent to make plays out of nothing, but he is very well surrounded".
Garitano took stock of the two and a half months he has been in charge: "There is always room for improvement, we have to start recovering players for this last month of competition and we will continue to look for balance. We have had good and not so good moments, but the idea and mentality is the same and we are still there", he concluded.
