C.D. Leganés is received by the President of Malawi in search of new opportunities

The president of C.D. Leganés, Jeff Luhnow, was received last Friday in New York by the president of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera. The meeting between the two leaders marks the starting point of the club's international expansion project in search of new opportunities and football talent.

The club intends to build football academies in Africa in the future, and Malawi would be the chosen location for the first of these. That prompted the country's president to welcome Jeff Luhnow, who was accompanied by Kingsley Pungong, CEO of Rainbow, an international scouting and development company associated with the Blue Crow Sports Group.

The president of C.D. Leganes said that "Africa, and Malawi in particular, has a young population that makes demographics work in our favour. There is immense football talent and potential. We want to invest in infrastructure, training and coaching. Malawi is a country that can develop world-class players and we want to use that opportunity.
