Diawara: "I want to thank you for the trust, reach my best level, and help bring the team back to where it deserves to be."

The Guinean midfielder was presented this Monday as a new player for C.D. Leganés.

C.D. Leganés officially presented the Guinean international midfielder Amadou Diawara as their new player this Monday. The African player, who has signed for the next two seasons with an option for a third, expressed his gratitude and excitement for his new challenge.

C.D. Leganés' director of football, Andrés Pardo, began the event by welcoming the player: "We are very happy that he is here and that he has accepted our proposal. We hope he can reach his maximum level at Leganés and achieve many successes."

Pardo stated that they always try to ensure "both personal and sporting aspects. He was the first player I contacted when I arrived, we saw him at Eldense, and we were clear that he could give us an important boost. He had many offers from various leagues, he liked our project, but he needed time to think. In the end, it has come to fruition, and we hope he can give his best version. He is young, physically fit, tactically and technically good, and I hope he can contribute a lot to us."

Diawara: "I am very motivated to reach my maximum level. I must give it my all; they have given me an opportunity, and I have to be grateful"

For his part, Diawara wanted to thank "the club and Andrés for their trust. I hope to repay that trust on the field soon. I am motivated and want to give everything to bring the team back to where it deserves to be. There were several teams interested, but Leganés' project convinced me. Andrés has been very important for me to be here; he has always been very close to reaching an agreement. He presented the project to me, and it was a project I couldn't say no to."

The Guinean revealed that he has not been able to "talk much with the coach yet, but if the club and the coach, with the experience they have, brought you here, it's because they want you. On my part, I will give everything to repay this trust. I am a very motivated player on the field. I am physically and technically fit, I like to recover balls and help the defense. I can improve, for sure, but my qualities are evident to people; this is not my first contract."

Diawara assured that he is "very motivated to reach my maximum level. I must give it my all; they have given me an opportunity, and I have to be grateful. I have to give my best, recover the level I had at Napoli and Roma, and even surpass it. I respect the club; I am not here to return to the national team but to help the club return to the level it deserves." He also acknowledged that having a compatriot like Cissé on the team "gives you motivation and a bit of joy."

Regarding his last experience in Spain, with Eldense, he commented that "if the team is relegated, you can't say it went well; it would be disrespectful to the club. Individually, it went more or less well; I was able to play several games and even score some goals. In the Second Division, the level is good and important."

Andrés Pardo: "We are evaluating some positions to strengthen certain areas on the field"

Asked about other market situations, Andrés Pardo spoke about the possible departure of Javi Hernández: "Until it is signed, we cannot say it is finalized. We are making progress in that situation, and it could happen." Regarding possible reinforcements, he commented that "we have in mind that if there are more than one international in the midfield, we should cover it with one more player to have the position secured. The Africa Cup of Nations does not disrupt us, but the FIFA dates do. Everything is planned so that if two players leave at the same time, the position is covered."

Pardo acknowledged that they are "evaluating some positions to strengthen certain areas and keeping an eye on whether there might be an unexpected departure so we can have a replacement. If Javi's situation arises, we can consider signing someone for that position or not. Enric is close to returning, Marvel is playing very well there, and there are young players below who are doing very well. It is not a situation that worries us. There could be an addition, or we could go with what we have."

Regarding Juan Cruz's situation, he stated that he does not know "what is going to happen. I have read many things in recent days, but as of today, we are not negotiating with any club for his departure. At some point, a club has called me, but in recent days we have not received any calls."

Finally, regarding the possible renewal of Cissé, he assured that "for us, he is an important player; we are trying to do everything possible for him to continue with us. We are talking, and we will see in the coming weeks how it goes."
