The coach of the C.D. Leganés was satisfied with the work done by the team against a rival of Champions like Sevilla and regretted that the collegiate of the match will not point out the clear penalty for hands in one of the last plays of the match that would have allowed C.D.Leganés to fight for the pass to the quarterfinals.
"I have not seen the hand from the bench, but all the people on the bench have told me that it was a penalty and they have not whistled it. If we are working with VAR, it would be important to have it, because of the effort, work and commitment of the boys, they deserved to have taken that penalty and to have had the option to tie and go to the next round", said the blue and white coach.
Today it is true that we had a very complicated match against an opponent who was going to demand a lot from us, the work of the players allowed us to avoid the opponent to generate opportunities. To put a 'but' we could have had more transitions. I hope that the effort of the boys has made the fans feel proud infront a Champions team, said the coach.
The important thing is that we worked despite the limitations of the week. The most important thing is that the players have returned to competition and are working to leave C.D.Leganes as best as possible. In the only transition they have had they scored a goal for us', he stressed.
Finally, the coach Pepinero wanted to keep the positive things of the match. When we face opponents who handle the ball very well, like Las Palmas, we have to be strong, to be together and orderly, and in transitions we can hurt the opponents. We have to have more of the ball and look for the opponent's goal' he concluded.
