Sergi Palencia: "We have to focus on the present and fight hard for this opportunity".

C.D. Leganés fullback Sergi Palencia spoke to the club's media about the match that the pepineros will play this Monday (19:00) at the Vallecas Stadium against Rayo Vallecano. The defender is confident in the team for this final stretch of the championship.

The Catalan foresees a very tough game next Monday: "I remember the game of the first round, which was very tough. We won, but we suffered a lot. They have powerful and dynamic players and they are difficult to defend. In addition, their field is difficult and we are looking forward to measure ourselves against this kind of teams to see our level".

"We have a spectacular opportunity to go up to the First Division".

Palencia considers that the team is in a good moment: "In this second round, when you are in need, they make it difficult for you. They are now more demanding and will be twice as focused and intense. I see the team well and excited, in the last few games we have seen interesting things and we have taken a step forward in terms of offense. We are all very focused".
The Blue and Whites' '2' believes that this end of the season is being faced with the desire to achieve something important: "Against Sporting we left with a good feeling, despite the draw, due to the game and the chances we generated. We have to focus on that, secure the 'play-off' and try to win everything between now and the end of the season. We have a spectacular opportunity to go up to the First Division with Leganés, we have to appreciate that six years ago all the pepineros would have signed to be like this at this point. We could have done a little more at times, but we have to focus on the present and fight our hardest to give Leganés back where it deserves to be".
