C.D Leganés’ technical secretary Txema Indias attended the media this friday after his renewal with the club for another season was confirmed. Indias is satisfied for continuing with the club and hopes to secure the survival in LaLiga.
“I look back and realize how fast everything happens on the world of football. This will be my sixth season and I am thrilled to continue growing at C.D Leganés. I am thankful that they still count on me, I feel like a pepinero and I am looking up to achieve more goals with the club. Leganés is my first option always but you also want to feel is reciprocal. At the end it is, and everything is simpler. A spot like mine in the elite is not easy, both parts must agree and that is what we have done.
“We have a big level of trust and realize is a difficult moment in which is better to sign for a year and see how everything evolves even though we are fully committed”.
“Other club, in our context, would have already been relegated”
Txema reviewed the current season and thinks that Leganés has chances to reach the survival, despite of the difficulties: “So much has happened. These are not excuses, if we are on the lowest part of the rankings is because we haven’t done everything well but some external situations occurred and didn’t mean good for us. We must leave that behind and focus on the next eleven matches, give our best and realize it depends on us, this is a beautiful opportunity”.
“Other club, in our context, would have already been relegated but we have managed to raise. The club must stay at first division because of all the people involved. We have eleven remaining matches and there is something like a second chance to give our best”. About Braithwaite’s departure on February, he affirms: “It was a big damage for us but right now I am only thinking about our current players who will be the ones to help us to remain at the top. The rest is history, I think he is a great player but that is on the past”.
“The clubs that are financially healthy will compete better”
The sports director reffered about the players that are on loan at Leganés: “We are in talks with the clubs to see if they can help us authorizing the players to be with us beyond June 30th. More tan great professionals, the players on loan at the club are amazing people and all have agreed to stay with us until the end of the season. I think is what should happen with all the teams. It is our intention that every player feels good at Leganés so he can perform in the best possible way”, remarks.
Indias thinks that in the future Leganés will benefit from the good financial health the club has: “Everyone knows about our sales numbers. At the end, the club’s management defines the amounts that we can work with. I think that besides the unfortunate events, we are privileged, and we may be on a good scenario. We do not know what the transfer fee of a player in five months will be. We must wait and see what happens in the football world, but I consider that the clubs that are financially healthy will compete better”.
“We must be well positioned at the market and see what happens on the following matchdays”
Regarding the market, Txema explains the scenario in which the club is positioning right now: “It is quite complex because we do not know in which category we will be. We must be prepared for both situations. We are collecting information and trying to be well positioned in the market, but we must wait and see the evolution of the coming matchdays”.
Indias referred about Szymanowski’s contract ending this season: “He is a player that helped us to be where we are right now. Unfortunately, he has had some injuries, but we will evaluate his situation on the following months”.
Txema analyzed the situation of the clubs that have received support from the government to pay their salaries and that may complete big transfers on next market: “It wouldn’t be ethical. If a club asked for help to pay its salaries because a difficult economic situation three months before, it wouldn’t be very logical that it could make bigger transfers than the clubs that didn’t”.
