C.D. Leganés failed to pick up any points in their visit to Burgos C.F. at El Plantío (2-1), in a match on the 24th matchday of LALIGA HYPERMOTION. Óscar Plano scored for the Pepineros, while David González and Mario González, the latter in added time, scored for the home side.
Igor Oca made just one change to the Leganés lineup from the last victory against Real Sociedad ‘B’, with Dani Rodríguez coming into the starting eleven, making his debut as a starter after coming on last week following his recent signing for the Pepineros, replacing Naim García, who started this time on the bench. The latest addition to the Blue and Whites, Equatorial Guinean striker Luis Asué, also made his debut in the squad.
An even first half, with Leganés dominating but without clear chances or goals
The match began evenly, with Lega's first chance coming in the 9th minute with a cross from Rubén Peña from the right that Cissé was close to heading in. In the 20th minute, Álex Millán tried his luck from outside the area, but his right-footed shot went wide. Dani Rodríguez, in the 26th minute, caused problems for Cantero with a corner from the left that forced the Burgos goalkeeper to touch the ball and deflect it onto the crossbar when it was already going in.
There were few chances at either end, with Lega trying to get forward mainly through Franquesa's runs down the left, but the defenses prevailed over the attacks in a rocky first half with no mistakes from either side. With no further incidents, and with the score tied at 0-0, the teams went into halftime.
David González put Burgos ahead at the start of the second half
The second half began with no changes, and Burgos took the lead in the 48th minute through David González, who headed in a cross from the left to beat Juan Soriano and make it 1-0 with the home side's first shot on target. The play was preceded by a clear corner kick after Franquesa's run, which the referee did not see, giving Burgos possession to start the goal play.
Lega tried to react with a shot by Dani Rodríguez in the 52nd minute from the edge of the box, which was caught by Cantero. The Pepineros were unable to recover from the home side's goal, and in the 66th minute, Igor Oca made his first two substitutions, bringing on Duk and Diego García for Dani Rodríguez and Álex Millán. In the 75th minute, Melero and Naim replaced Rubén Peña and Franquesa, offensive changes in search of the equalizer.
Óscar Plano equalized, but Mario González gave the home side the victory in added time.
The score was about to become 1-1 in the 78th minute with a shot from Diego that was cleared off the line by the home defense, but the goal did come in the 85th minute, after a first-time shot from Óscar Plano beat Cantero to score his first goal of the season. Leganés went in search of a comeback, with Asué coming on for Diawara in search of the winning goal, but in added time Mario González headed in a cross from the right to beat Juan Soriano and score the winning goal for Burgos.
Leganés remain on 29 points in the standings and will face their next match on Friday (8:30 p.m.) at Ontime Butarque against Granada C.F.
